ugg being in school with ADD was so hard and it still is (not in school anymore)
i couldn't do my homework because i kept getting distracted for hours at a time and i just... i hate it, i have to take 4 different meds every day just to be able to function and if i miss even one day, i get really dizzy and nauseous and it is not fun at all.

i hate when people claim they have ADD/ADHD just because they're OMG SO HYPER AND RANDOM LOL or some fucking bullshit.
i cannot get away from this stupid fucking laptop, i am on it almost 24/7 and it's RUINING my LIFE.

Nobody is 100% insane, and nobody is 100% normal.

Nobody is normal? Saying everyone isn't normal is actually just saying everyone is normal.

Actually, if everyone was not normal, that would become the new standard of normality.
In that hypothetical situation, "not normal" would be the common trait present in all of us, thus becoming "normal".

I meant nobody is 100% normal.

If there's anything that annoys me
it's the "insane" creepy pasta fans that say things like "lol jeff da killer is totally adorable and i love him so much <3333" or "i like blood a lot does that mean i'm insane???" like wtf no.
If Jeff was ever real he'd never be 'your best friend for life'. So many people find fictional characters suffering insanity as 'sexy' and 'awesome', and they romanticize mental illness. like stop please thanks?

I don't suffer from any mental illnesses, and I don't want to, but I can understand why people who /actually/ have it get annoyed by the fakers.

Ain't that the truth... I find it pretty obnoxious when some people think that they're "insane" or "non-human" when really they aren't insane and they're still human (like people who are pretending that they think that they're non-human). I have anxiety (I'm not sure if high or low anxiety), sensory processing disorder (meaning the sensory nerves and motor nerves have trouble processing information right but for me today it's not as bad as it was when i was younger but disorders don't really disappear so i still have it), and pervasive developmental disorder (meaning that I have trouble understanding a lot of things and focusing with many different tasks all at once) and it's not fun dealing with it every single day and it was never my fault in the first place if you're thinking about blaming me. Mental disorders aren't some pretend thing or a game it's real and it stinks dealing with them. Look I do understand that what some of you people are getting at is from some sort of character with a mental disorder from something but is it really funny to be acting like you really have one?? no and you really shouldn't think that having some sort of mental disorder is all fun and games because it's not and it can make people think about you the wrong way (it can defiantly scare them if they think you have one) and make them think that you actually do have one and you sound like you just want attention from a lot of people. Research what mental disorders are before you act like you have one.

A lot of my friends are saying that I am weird and insane, psycho, etc.
I honestly don't think so, they say it just because of my immoral tastes and worldview...
Others can't understand..

Back when I first made my OC Tsubaki, I simply made her schizophrenic because I thought it would make me fit in with the people with "super kewl crazy ocs!!!1!!11!"
But nowadays I try to research an illness before giving the character said illness.

I was the same as you. I was "IM INSANE LULLUL" But then I pulled my head out of the dark tunnel called "Stupidity" and realised I AM NORMAL.

I agree with you 100%! I know someone like this in real life and even though he is a mostly pretty cool dude, he thinks that just because he likes guns and blood and gore and violence in his videogames and tv shows that he must be 'insane'! But I never call him out for it because I either don't feel like starting an argument or rather not risk getting rid of one of the few friends I have.

They think its cool because they're favourite characters go insane, and they want to be a murdering sphycopath too just like Jeff or something!
Insanity is very serious, its not something you can just go on the internet and talk about like "oh ye I am so insane i see ghosts and i want to kill people lol"

I agree with this stamp, having mental illnesses suck like hell. People think they'll be seen as cute and they tell people that they're depressed or have OCD, and I'm just sat there saying, 'tell me how cute you'd feel if you were sectioned and locked up against your will, having to shit and shower in front of nurses.' People like that SUCK.
boxofstraws Featured By Owner Sep 3, 2014
I fucking hate it when people say, "Oh, I'm just OCD about my coffee!"

YOU ARE JUST PICKY ABOUT SOMETHING. I don't give two SHITS if people use it as slang. It is a disorder. Period.

(Also being schizophrenic is NOT fun. All the people I know who have it hate being stuck with it.)

Lol,, most of people I knew who proclaim themselves as mentally ill are actually just lazy cowards who live inside their own head and use this so called "mental ilness" as an excuse for whatever reason and to make themselves feel unique. They had average lifes and families, and acted pretty much normal when I talked to them...

Ugh, I hate when people pretend they have mental illnesses. I'm diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and depression, both of which are apparently jokes to most people-- I see "autistic" tossed around as an insult or a go-to word to describe those who are either awkward or obsessed with something, and I swear not everyone on the internet who says they're clinically depressed actually is. It's even worse if people start trying to call themselves insane, or saying they have, idk, multiple personality disorder or something else when they obviously don't. I feel that it takes away from the seriousness of mental disorders and makes it harder for people who are struggling to be able to reach out. I for one refrained from talking about how suicidal I was with anyone, including my therapist, until after I'd already attempted to kill myself and had to be hospitalized, just because of the stigma around that sort of thing. It gets written off as just attention-seeking behaviour, and it's so hard to get actual help when you're not taken seriously. I understand if people vent online every now and again about their problems (it can be nice to have a few supportive comments and the ability to be anonymous about everything), but it's annoying when I see someone who acts like a total attention whore by playing up any mental illness(es) they claim to have.
The stupid behaviour that people display towards these kinds of problems is in part what caused me to leave DeviantART before. *sigh*

I have Schizophrenia and I get pissed off when people say they wish that they had it as much as I get pissed off by people who say schizophrenics are all deranged psychopaths. Psychopathy and fucking Schizophrenia's completely different, dumbasses. Stop getting your 'facts' off of films and TV shows. I don't mind jokes about schizophrenia, as long as they're obvious jokes.
Why would you want to have Schizophrenia anyway? So you want panic attacks pretty much every night? You want to be paranoid 24/7? You want to think that everything you ever done is wrong and that you just want it all to just end? The only good thing is the voices in your head... Providing those voices are actually kind, like my ones. They help me calm down and stuff... Until it's night time and 4AM and they just want to piss around and give me heart attacks all the time.

Okay, I'll stop ranting now.

I use the word madness to refer to high level of out of the box creative thinking.
And insanity to refer to mental illness.

I think that people keep saying things like ''I'm insane'' as a positive thing because there aren't really any better word for it.
And as you might know, language shape how we think, so some people misunderstand and think that high level of creativity is synonymus with insanity because of the context in wich the words are used.

My solution is to change the meaning of the word madness so that it no longer have any ties with mental illness, then sane people will stop saying that they are insane because they will now have a word for ''awesomely creative, out of the box thinkning to the extreme.''.....Or something like that.

its utterly disgusting on every level possible to see so many people on this site glorify and sexualize mental illness. I know people on this site know what they are doing when they post images of people stabbing themselves and then saying 'LOL THEY'RE SEXY COS THEY R INSAEN LELELEL'. I think what fueled this GROSS DISGUSTING AWFUL behaviour would have to popular things in the media sadly enough. People know its a wrong representation of others with mental illness and its just DOWNRIGHT OFFENSIVE, but the idiots get so fascinated with this they fall in love with it. Its really horrible, yes it is. People think they're so "cool" and "edgy" when they create hideous and highly offensive pieces to either glorify or sexualize mental illness. When we all know for a fact they're just being purely idiotic. Since everyones telling what they have here, I'll go ahead and tell what I have too- I've recently been diagnosed with PTSD and bipolar-depression. It breaks me, it really does- when I stumble upon something titled 'insanity'. People are just tossing around the word like its nothing, they throw glitter around it and fucking praise it like its something people should celebrate. When people draw things of people suffering because of something awful that happened to that character in their past, when others look at someone in pain and smile- even grow jealous of the person in pain! And it's all because of the disgusting false images presented to others through the media. There is nothing that's funny about being mentally ill, there's nothing sexy, trendy, or anything positive about it. Its heartbreaking. Heartbreaking to see it happen to others- and so unbelievably painful when it happens to oneself. I wish the world would only open their eyes , nothing on the media is 100% true. I wish people would see that everything about what they think they're doing- with all of their gross 'faan art'- is just wrong. So incredibly wrong.
